IB director underlines importance of state police force

Director, Intelligence Bureau Tapan Kumar Deka graced the occasion as chief guest who took the salute of the parade. DGP Haryana, Sh. P.K. Agrawal was also present on this occasion. As many as 515 new recruits took part in the passing out parade after their successful completion of training. While congratulating them, Director IB Tapan Kumar Deka said that passing out parade is a proud moment in one s life and it comes only once in a lifetime. Hence, apply whatever you learned during the training period in your life. He said that it has been proved in the past decades that the police forces in every corner of the country have faced big challenges with indomitable courage and have also conquered them. Be it the challenge of insurgency in Jammu and Kashmir and the North East or the problem of left wing extremism in the central part of the country. The State Police forces are constantly upskilling and re-skilling themselves to deal with these old and new emerging challenges. In such a situation, 515 jawans who are going to become a part of Haryana Police Force after completing their commando training today, will definitely increase the efficiency of the Haryana Police Force, he added. Tapan Kumar Deka said that the state police forces always act as the first responder of the Union Government, therefore emphasis is being laid on strengthening the state police forces continuously. Referring to the Haryana Police, he said that the Haryana Police has always maintained law and order in the state by showing patience and understanding in critical and difficult situations. Police work is very challenging. That s why the conduct of the jawans and their capability should also be exceptional. Police job cannot be done only considering it as employment, but it should also have the spirit of social service as well as service to the nation. If the person joining the police works considering it as the best opportunity to serve the society and nation, only then it is meaningful to join the force and work in it. He said that recently the Haryana Police was honoured with the President s Colour Award by the Union Home Minister Mr. Amit Shah. It was a proud moment not only for the Haryana Police, but for the entire nation. He said that he was hopeful that wearing this insignia with pride, the Haryana Police would continue to serve the people with distinction and commitment. On this occasion, the Chief Guest also congratulated all the passed-out recruits and the award winners. Earlier, Haryana Director General of Police Sh. P.K. Agrawal welcomed the chief guest. Speaking on this occasion, he congratulated the jawans participating in the passing out parade. Describing the police service as a symbol of courage, sacrifice and dedication, he said that today all 515 jawans have become bearers of a great responsibility. He called upon them to deliver their best to face the challenges of modern era. The Haryana Police Commando Force is carrying out the responsibility of protecting important sensitive establishments including the protection of state s VVIPs, distinguished persons, dignitaries, public representatives along with its main goal of prevention of terrorism and successful operation of activities related to it. The commando police also assist in maintaining law and order and tackling heinous criminals. Henceforth your duty as a jawan will be more important than anything else in your life, he added.
