category Regional, chandigarh, , tags Regional, chandigarh, , DW BUREAU Chandigarh A High Powered Land Purchase Committee (HPLPC) meeting met under the chairmanship of Chief Secretary Sanjeev Kaushal recommended to purchase 20 acres of land each for setting up an Automated Dairy Plant at Ambala and canal-based water supply in Jind city. The meeting of the Committee of Secretaries for purchase of land for various developmental projects under the e-Bhoomi portal was attended by Additional Chief Secretary and Financial Commissioner, Revenue and Disaster Management and Consolidation Departments, Mr. Rajesh Khullar, Additional Chief Secretary, Higher Education, Mr. Anand Mohan Sharan, Commissioner and Secretary of Irrigation and Water Resources, Mr. Pankaj Agarwal, Director of Medical Education and Research, Mr. Aditya Dahiya and Director, Consolidation of Land Holdings and Land Records, Ms. Amna Tasneem. Mr. Kaushal said that both these projects will be sent to the High Powered Land Purchase Committee (HPLC) constituted under the chairmanship of the Chief Minister. Mr. Manohar Lal for final approval for land purchase. In the meeting, discussions were held regarding the purchase of land for a total of 8 development projects. While giving directions to the concerned Deputy Commissioners connected through video conferencing, the Chief Secretary asked them to hold constructive interaction with the landowners regarding the purchase of land with their consent. It was apprised in the meeting that about 20 acres of land is required for the expansion of Shaheed Hasan Khan Mewati Government Medical College, Nalhar Mewat and the land owners have agreed to provide more land than the requirement on the e-Bhoomi portal. The Chief Secretary directed the officers to rationalize the rates for this project after holding interactions with the landowners. It was further apprised that about 45 acres of land is required for canal-based water supply in Rania town in Sirsa and for this, sufficient land is available on the portal, but the rates demanded by the land owners are higher than the collector rate. In this matter, the Chief Secretary instructed the officers that other alternative sites should also be identified for this project. Apart from this, projects regarding construction of sewage treatment plant at Bass Town under Mahagram Yojna in Hisar, revival of Saraswati creek river in Yamunanagar district, expansion of OP Jindal Nalwa distributary in Hisar district and construction of Dhingtania Kharif Channel in Sirsa district were discussed in the meeting.
