Two counting halls at Kharar counting centre for Kharar, Mohali

District Election Officer-cum-Deputy Commissioner Mrs Aashika Jain said that the counting for the polled votes for the Lok Sabha Elections-2024 for Anandpur Sahib Constituency's 52-Kharar and 53-SAS Nagar assembly segment would be done at Government Polytechnic, Khooni Majra (Kharar) on June 4, 2024.
Divulging the details, after taking a review meeting with Additional District Election Officer-cum-Additioanl Deputy Commissioner (Viraj S Tidke, ADC (UD) Damanjit Singh Mann, SP (H) Tushar Gupta, Assistant Returning Officers-cum-Sub Divisional Magistrates, Mohali and Kharar, Depankar Garg and Gurmandar Singh, Election Tehsildar Sanjay Kumar and other officers, the Deputy Commissioner Mrs Aashika Jain said that a total of two counting halls would be set up at this counting centre. Each counting hall would have 14 counting tables and each table would have four members counting team composed of a Counting Supervisor, a Counting Assistant, Counting Staff from MTS/Group D Employees and One Micro Observer.
The counting staff would be allocated the number of tables on the day of counting during final randomization that would take place at 5:00 am. The counting will start at 8:00 am.
The whole process of counting starting from setting up of tables, deputing of staff, showing of result for each round would be monitored by the Counting Observer appointed by the ECI, Mohammad Avesh, added the Deputy
Commissioner.
She further said that the entire process of counting would be done under the strict protocols and security/surveillance laid by ECI and no one be allowed to counting-halls besides authorized persons.
The Deputy Commissioner clarified that No still or video cameras except official video cameras for official recording are allowed inside the counting hall. Hand-held cameras, without stand, can be allowed inside the counting hall by press persons carrying media passes issued by the ECI.
