Top space industry experts attend symposium on ThaparSat

Taking a step forward in the direction to impart its students with experiential learning in engineering and technological developments involved in satellite building and space missions, the fraternity of Thapar Institute of Engineering and Technology took a leap of faith four years back and decided to build its own satellite "ThaparSat".
The satellite program of TIET is a milestone achieved in the direction of growth of academic and research programs in "Space Science and Technology". To celebrate this marvel and embark on the beginning of the journey ahead TIET organized a one-day symposium on "ThaparSat: an initiative of TIET towards the future of space program in the state of Punjab" at Thapar Institute of Engineering and Technology, Patiala campus, on Friday.
The symposium was attended by dignitaries from Punjab government bodies; GS Majithia, Member Secretary of the Punjab Pollution Control Board Dapinder Bakshi, Joint Director of Punjab State Council for Science and Technology, Dr Brijendra Pateriya, Director Punjab Remote Sensing Center, and Jaswinder Singh, CAO, Department of Agriculture. Dr AS Pillai, founder MD Brahmos Aerospace Limited, was present at the event along with representatives from the space industry and other academic institutes in the country.
