DW BUREAU / Deoria

In a concerted effort to streamline grievance redressal, enhance police accountability, foster public sensitivity, and promote transparency in governance, "Thana Samadhan Diwas" was organized at all police stations in Deoria district on Saturday.

Operating under the desk-based system, the initiative saw active participation from both police and revenue officials who listened to public complaints and facilitated immediate resolutions wherever possible. Joint teams from the two departments conducted spot visits in many cases to expedite settlement of local disputes.

At Khukhundu police station, District Magistrate Mrs. Divya Mittal and Superintendent of Police Mr. Vikrant Veer personally reviewed public grievances. A total of 21 applications were submitted at the station, with 7 cases resolved on the spot. For the remaining matters, appropriate instructions were issued to joint teams comprising revenue and police officials to ensure timely follow-up and resolution.

Under the SP's supervision, beat officers and sector in-charges handled complaints at designated desks earmarked for their respective areas ? be it village, beat, or halka ? ensuring focused attention and swift action.

Across the district, 186 applications were received during Thana Samadhan Diwas, with 41 cases successfully resolved by the end of the day. The initiative reflected a coordinated approach to public service delivery, underlining the administration's commitment to responsive and accountable governance.
