DW BUREAU / chandigarh In the aftermath of the Punjab and Haryana High Court decision quashing the investigation report into the Kotkapura firing incident, Punjab Congress president Sunil Jakhar and Cabinet Minister Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa on Monday offered to resign from their posts. However, the same were rejected by Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh, it is learnt. Randhawa had reportedly met the Chief Minister on Saturday and had expressed his anguish over the manner in which the probe was conducted in connection with the sacrilege cases during the previous SAD-BJP regime. Randhawa, it is learnt, offered his resignation after the meeting of the Council of Ministers on April 26. Jakhar has also not been happy with the developments after the HC quashed the probe report filed by the Special Investigation Team and directed the Punjab Government to reconstitute the SIT, excluding Kunwar Vijay Pratap. Soon after the High Court order on April 9, Kunwar Vijay Pratap had sent his resignation to the Chief Minister. (editor@dailyworld.in)
