Students should be innovative and promote new ideas: Dattatraya

Haryana Governor Bandaru Dattatraya said that students should be innovative and they should promote new ideas, as innovation will pave the path for employment. He was speaking as the Chief Guest at the Golden Jubilee celebrations of Maharshi Dayanand University (MDU), Rohtak organised in the Tagore Auditorium on Saturday.
Congratulating the MDU family on completing 50 successful years, the Governor and Chancellor of MDU, Sh. Bandaru Dattatraya said the Golden Jubilee is a proud milestone in the university's journey.
He appealed to students and staff to carry forward the legacy of excellence and to be inspired by the values and vision of Maharshi Dayananda Saraswati, after whom the university is named.
Calling the National Education Policy a game changer, the Governor emphasized the need for swift implementation of the Education Policy.
He appreciated the university's progress and noted that MDU alumni have earned recognition in various fields including education, sports, culture, and public service. He praised the efforts of the Vice Chancellor and his team in strengthening the university's future.
During the event, Governor, Sh. Dattatraya honored the teachers who made outstanding contributions in the field of research with the Research Award.
He honored the teachers and non-teaching staff, class toppers and students who made significant achievements in various fields including social service, NSS and YRC volunteers for their distinguished services.
On the occasion of MDU's 50th Foundation Day, the Governor inaugurated a newly constructed cafeteria under the Faculty Development Centre. He also released a souvenir and the quarterly newsletter named 'MDU Mirror', as well as unveiled the Golden Jubilee logo and the university's alumni website.
An exhibition was also organised to showcase the university's achievements. 40 departments and 21 cells of MDU displayed their work and progress, which was appreciated by the Governor, Education Minister, and other guests.
Haryana Education Minister, Sh. Mahipal Dhanda praised the 50-year journey of MDU and said it is an honour to be associated with a university named after a visionary like Maharshi Dayanand, who showed the world how to live a meaningful life.
He reiterated the resolve to make India the most powerful country by 2047 and called for collective efforts to achieve this goal.
Vice Chancellor, MDU, Prof. Rajbir Singh said the 50th Foundation Day marks an important moment in the university's journey. He said MDU has been constantly setting new benchmarks in research, education, sports, and cultural activities.
