DW BUREAU Haryana Transport Minister, Mool Chand Sharma, while answering a question asked by an MLA during the ongoing monsoon session of the Haryana Vidhan Sabha, said that the state government is committed to banning the plying overloaded vehicles in the state. The investigation of such vehicles is an ongoing process and strict challaning of overloaded vehicles is being done by the enforcement agencies. Divulging details, the Minister said that during the current financial year ( from April 1, 2022, to July 31, 2022), a total of 15751 overloaded vehicles have been challaned and a fine amounting to Rs 66,48,36,100 has been recovered. Apart from this, 460 driving licenses have been cancelled and 152 permits have been cancelled. Challans are being strictly issued for overloading vehicles in the state. More and more challans of overloading vehicles will be done in Sadhaura Assembly Constituency also, said Sh. Mool Chand Sharma. In response to another question he said that the present depth of three mines located in village Bakhrija of Nangal Choudhary assembly constituency are 50 m, 105 m and 60 m. He said that the depth of the mining pits is within the prescribed limit as per the approved mining plan. Mining is an ongoing process and to ensure whether the operation is being carried out as per Mining Plan. (editor@dailyworld.in)
