School teachers wont be engaged in non-teaching work, says Haryana Edu Minister

category Regional, chandigarh, , tags Regional, chandigarh, , DW BUREAU Chandigarh Haryana School Education Minister Kanwar Pal today disclosed that the school teachers will not be engaged in any non-teaching work. He added that this matter is being discussed with the senior officers, teachers and association. Besides, the department is considering to appoint class 4 employees through HKRN for cleaning purposes in school. Such employees will be appointed only in those schools having strength of more than 100 students. He said that the PGT teachers will be redesignated as Lecturers . This will meet the long waiting period of PGT teachers. The minister was presiding over a meeting with 4 different associations of the government school teachers at Haryana Niwas, Chandigarh today. The Minister said that the state government is considering appointing Vice-Principals in the Government school as per the requirement.He directed the officers of the department to expedite the matters like the LTC budget, ACP cases and release funds for student welfare schemes of benefits to the students etc. He informed that under the Pradhan Mantri School for Rising India (PM-Shri) scheme launched by the Prime Minister, Sh. Narendra Modi, 286 PM-Shri schools will be opened in the state. In the first phase 124 schools will be opened by this year. Regarding the various grievances of PTI, DPE and Vocational Teachers. The Minister assured that the Government will consider their demand sympathetically. IT Cell was directed to take due care while publishing the data of rationalization, keeping in mind the genuine suggestions of the associations and the norms approved by the govt. in this regard. He further stated that matters of Guest Teachers, Mewat Model Schools etc. pending at the level of the Finance Department be taken up immediately. On the question of National Education Policy, He informed that the National Education Policy has been prepared to impart education among children by imbibing values in them. Which was targeted to be implemented across the country by 2030 but Haryana is moving forward with the vision to implement it by 2025. (editor dailyworld.in)
