The Punjab Government has appointed Sanjeev Kumar Sood as the new Director/Technical of Punjab State Transmission Corporation Limited (PSTCL). With over 34 years of distinguished service in the power sector, Sood brings a wealth of experience in electricity transmission and distribution to his new role.

Sood began his professional journey with the Department of Telecommunications, Government of India, serving for two years before transitioning to Punjab's state power sector. Since then, he has held a range of critical technical and leadership roles in both Punjab State Power Corporation Limited (PSPCL) and PSTCL.

In 2022, he was elevated to the position of Chief Engineer (CE), where he led several high-impact projects over nearly three years. These included the successful commissioning of 400 kV substations at Dhanasu and Ropar, along with the revival of key 220 kV projects at Sherpur (GIS) and Budhladha (AIS).

Speaking to the media after his appointment, Sood expressed his gratitude to Hon'ble Chief Minister of Punjab S. Bhagwant Singh Mann, Power Minister S. Harbhajan Singh ETO, Chief Secretary Sh. K.A.P. Sinha, IAS, and Secretary Power Sh. Ajoy Kumar Sinha, IAS, for entrusting him with the responsibility. He reaffirmed his commitment to strengthening PSTCL's technical capabilities and contributing to the modernization of Punjab's power infrastructure.
