Former minister and senior Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) leader Bikram Singh Majithia today demanded the immediate resignation of Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal besides the dismissal of Jails minister Satyendra Jain after alleged revelations that Jain was being treated as a State guest in Tihar jail and being given VVIP treatment including massages.
Bikram Majithia also accused the Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal and Punjab chief minister Bhagwant Mann of virtually patronizing a criminal nexus in Delhi and Punjab jails and requested the union government as well as the Supreme Court and high courts take suo moto action in the matter. "This is extremely important as the law and order situation is affected by such acts and they also have the propensity to disturb the peace in the border State of Punjab". He also asserted that Punjab's economy and communal harmony were also being affected.
Speaking about the videos of the Delhi Jails minister receiving massages in jail, the SAD leader said this was in utter violation of the Jails manual. He also termed as shameful the justification of this act by Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia while asserting that a person who was himself accused of corruption in excise tenders could not give such certificates.
Majithia said the video also made it clear why dreaded gangsters like Lawrence Bishnoi and Jaggu Bhagwanpuria were taking shelter in Tihar jail. "It is clear that like conman Sukesh Chandrashekhar they are purchasing patronage which allowed them to plan the murder of Sidhu Moosewala in Tihar".
He also took on Punjab Jails minister Harjot Bains who he maintained should be dismissed for bringing the 'badlav' which had occurred in Tihar jail under AAP rule to Punjab. "We have witnessed the escape of gangster Deepak Tinu after hatching the escape plot in Goindwal jail. The recovery of phones and drugs in Punjab jails has increased manifold after formation of the AAP government with 2,500 mobile phones alone being recovered in the last six months". Answering a question, Majithia also challenged the Jails minister to disclose what VIP facility had been provided to him during his stay in the Patiala jail adding others including former Pradesh Congress President Navjot Sidhu were being given eight course meals. Meanwhile replying to a query about the Haryana Vidhan Sabha Speaker calling on the Punjab Governor to request for quick allotment of land to Haryana in the union territory for constructing a separate Vidhan Sabha building, Mr Majithia appealed to the Punjab Governor to consider the sensitivity of the issue and deny the request.
