Review Meeting Held on Status of GOI Flagship Schemes in UT Chandigarh

A high-level review meeting was taken by the Chief Secretary, UT Chandigarh and the Additional Secretary (UT), Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India, to assess the progress of various Government of India flagship schemes being implemented in the Union Territory of Chandigarh.
The meeting was attended by Sh. Mandip Singh Brar, Home Secretary, Sh. Pushpendra Kumar, DGP, Sh. Diprava Lakra, Finance Secretary and other senior officers of Chandigarh Administration.
The Government of India has launched specific programmes to provide education, healthcare, nutrition, sanitation and social security. The ultimate objective behind the flagship programmes is to achieve broad-based improvement in the living standards of people and to ensure that growth is inclusive.
The Chandigarh Administration shared the progress report of the 30 flagship schemes implemented in Chandigarh. The Secretaries gave a brief presentation on the status, achievements, and ongoing challenges of each scheme related to their departments, respectively, and assured that the administration is fully committed to meeting the targets set under each mission.
During the meeting, achievements of UT Chandigarh were highlighted in key centrally-sponsored flagship programmes, including Ayushman Bharat - Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB-PMJAY); Jal Jeevan Mission (Urban); Swachh Bharat Mission - Urban (SBM-U 2.0); Smart Cities Mission; Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana - Urban (PMAY-U); National Health Mission (NHM); Samagra Shiksha; POSHAN Abhiyaan; Ease of Doing Business; and Digital India Initiatives, among others.
During the meeting, the updated status of implementation of the three new criminal laws and new apps ? e-Sakshya, Nyay Setu, Nyay Shruti, and e-Summon in UT Chandigarh, was also reviewed. The AS (UT) was also given a live demonstration of the various pillars of the Interoperable Criminal Justice System (ICJS) functioning under the new criminal laws and their integration. The AS (UT), along with senior officials of Chandigarh Administration, visited CENCOPS, Sector-18, Chandigarh.
The AS (UT) appreciated the overall implementation efforts of the Chandigarh Administration and emphasized timely execution and effective delivery of services to citizens. Special focus was laid on data-driven monitoring, inter-departmental coordination, and community participation to ensure last-mile saturation and outcome-oriented implementation. The Chief Secretary, UT urged all departments to further intensify efforts, ensure seamless convergence among schemes, and maintain transparency and accountability in the delivery of public services.
