Rajindra Hospital gets 66 KV grid sub-station

In order to make a comprehensive improvement in power Infrastructure of area adjoining to Rajindra Hospital, a 66 KV new grid substation launched today at Rajindra Hospital by Deputy Principal Secretary to CM Rajesh Kumar and Information Commissioner Amrit Partap Singh Sekhon on behalf of Member of Parliament Preneet Kaur.
The substation commissioned and made functional, in a record time, has been completed at a cost of Rs 12 crore. On this occasion, Chief Engineer, South Zone, Er. Ravinder Singh Saini, Chief Engineer, Transmission System PSPCL Rajinder Singh Sarao, Superintending Engineer Circle Patiala, Er Surinder Mohan Chopra, Additional Superintending Engineer, Distribution Division Model Town Er. Amandeep Singh Dhindsa and other officials were present.
Meanwhile, Member of Parliament Preneet Kaur while extending her gratitude message to PSPCL officials for ensuring timely commissioning of this substation, assured the city residents about installation of one more 220 KV substation to address power supply issues.
In her message Preneet Kaur also expressed thanks to the Punjab Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh and said that he had initiated various development works in the city to provide state-of-the-art infrastructure and civic amenities to the residents of Patiala as well as the inner city.
A special fund of Rs 40 crore has also been released for beautification (Single Cable Project) and strengthening of power distribution system. Apart from this, funds of Rs 43 crore have also been sanctioned for the Heritage Street project to beautify the royal city.
The Rajindra Hospital is being catered from 11 kV Rajindra Hospital Feeder emanating from 66kV Shakti Vihar Substation with alternative 11kV supply provision from 11kV Switching Station, Mall Road. The shifting of complete load of Rajindra Hospital on this new 66kV grid will ensure uninterrupted power supply to this major hospital in Punjab.
The PSPCL officers briefed about the complete design, engineering, assembling, testing works, substation building, complete erection, testing, commissioning and putting new 66 KV sub-station into successful commercial operation.
