Raahgiri Relay Programmes to kick start Khelo India Youth Games-2021

To make Khelo India Youth Games-2021 a resounding success, 'Raahgiri Relay Programmes' will be organized in every district prior to the games so as to ensure maximum participation. In these 'Raahgiri Relay Programmes' local players who have performed at the National and International Level will be involved so that the public is motivated to see their heroes.
'Dhakad on Wheels', a dedicated vehicle displaying torch and mascot will tour the state to promote Khelo India Youth Games-2021 as a part of 'Raahgiri Relay Programmes'.
This was stated by Additional Principal Secretary to Chief Minister Haryana and Director General, Information, Public Relations and Languages Department, Dr. Amit Agrawal while chairing a review meeting with Deputy Commissioners, Superintendents of Police, officers of the Sports Department and DIPROs held here today through video conferencing regarding Khelo India Youth Games-2021.
"Since Khelo India Youth Games-2021 is a major sports event for Haryana, a buzz, especially among the youth should be created through these Raahgiri Relay Programmes. The Deputy Commissioners should also organize atleast one sports event out of five traditional games like Gatka, Kalaripayattu, Thang-Ta, Malkhamb and Yogasana to be played at Khelo India Games-2021, said Dr. Amit Agrawal.
While directing the District Information and Public Relations Officers(DIPROs) to ensure that the Khelo India Games-2021 fever reaches maximum number of people, especially school children, Dr. Agrawal said that extensive Information Education and Communication activities should be organized across the State.
The 'Khelo India Youth Games-2021', will be jointly organized by the State Government and Sports Authority of India (SAI), Union Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports. As many as 25 sports events will be organized in this grand event, including five traditional games like Gatka, Kalaripayattu, Thang-Ta, Malkhamb and Yogasana. These sports events will be organized at five venues namely Panchkula, Ambala, Shahabad, Chandigarh and Delhi.
"Govt will provide mobile phones to Numberdars"
Chandigarh Haryana Deputy Chief Minister, Dushyant Chautala has directed the officers to provide mobile sets worth Rs. 9,000 to all the numberdars of the state by organising a mobile-mela.
The Deputy Chief Minister was presiding over the meeting of officers of various districts through video conferencing this afternoon. It is noteworthy that this announcement of giving mobile phones to the numberdars and increase in their honorarium was made by the Chief Minister, Sh. Manohar Lal in the Nambardars' Conference. This morning a Memorandum of Understanding was signed by the Haryana Government with Indian Bank, in which all the numberdars of the state will be given an e-rupee coupon of Rs. 9,000 by the bank, through which the numberdars will be able to buy mobiles of their preferred company.
