Powercom engineers resent delay in new pay scales

Different associations of the Powercom employees including PSEB Engineers' Association, JE Council, Joint Forum, Officers Accounts Association, IT Officers Association, (AM/HR) PSPCL, HR Managers' Association expressed their resentment against the deliberate attempts by management in delaying the already announced pay scales.
Ajay Pal Singh Atwal, General Secretary of the PSEB Engineers Association, said that it was informed that after finalization of 6th pay commission of Punjab government, the Punjab State Power Corporation Limited (PSPCL) constituted the Wage Formulation Committee (WFC), which included representatives from the Punjab Finance Department, to study and finalise the new scales of PSPCL/PSTCL employees.
On the recommendations of the WFC, financial circulars have been issued by the management. It was assured that the new scales will be implemented from November 2021, but they failed to implement the same. Now it has been learnt that verbal instructions have been given to withhold the implementation of new pay scales.
Jasvir Singh Dhiman, President PSEBEA, Devinder Singh, General Secretary JE Council, Kuldeep Khanna President Joint Forum, KC Bhardwaj General Secretary Joint Forum, Shrikant Sharma, President Officers Accounts Association, Vinay Mahajan, General Secretary Officers Accounts Association, Ashutosh Goyal President PSPCL/PSTCL IT Officers' Association, Reetinder Singh Galvatti (AM/HR) President PSPCL HR Manager's Association stated that if new scales as already announced are not implemented and the salary of December 2021 is not
released as per new scales, all associations/unions will start protests immediately.
The leaders cautioned the PSPCL management to adhere to already decided issues and avoid manufacturing new issues with all categories of employees and resolve the pending issues, so that industrial peace may be restored.
