The theme of this year is Partnerships for Wildlife Conservation . In this series, Forest Wildlife Department, UT Chandigarh celebrated World Wildlife Day at Botanical Garden, Sarangpur and brought all the stakeholders partners of the environment who has evitable role in ecological balance. Debendra Dalai, Chief Conservator of Forests, Chief Guest planted a sapling on the occasion with Arulrajan P., Conservator of Forests, UT Chandigarh. Speaking on the occasion, Debendra Dalai, informed that department has taken keen interest in having partnership with living and non-living things towards improving the co-ordination and co-operation of conservation of wildlife and safety of wildlife at all sphere entering into endangered category of red from common category. Habitat management, habit preservation, ensuring quality life form at their habitat and safety from external life threat are some of the major activities taken up and followed for years. The result is visible in terms of green cover increase due to ecological balance, quality ground water and surface water availability without any kind of contamination and richness of biological diversity in the territory. More than 100 people participated and expressed their views on action of ecological balance and took pledge to support the administration especially the Forest Wildlife Department for their constant work to protect the nature.
