National Road Safety Week observed at Govt College

As a part of 32nd National Road Safety week, a special programme was orgainsed at Government College, Mohali on the theme 'Life is safe when driving is safe'
Aiming to apprise the students about the traffic rules, the new principal of the college, Dr Jatinder Kaur soon after assuming office organized the programme with the support of traffic police and the district transport office.
Inaugurating the function, SP Traffic Police Gurjot Singh Kaler urged the students to strictly follow the traffic rules while driving. He also emphasized the need to inculcate a habit of safe driving and asked them to motivate others to obey traffic rules and regulations.
Meanwhile, the Principal Dr. Jatinder Kaur also addressed the students stressed upon the need to sensitize the students about the significance and relevance of traffic rules in day to day life. She expressed gratitude to the district administration for supporting the organization of the event.
On the occasion, Project Coordinator Mission Salamati from Sambhav Foundation Amol Kaur presented a powerpoint presentation on traffic rules and safety measures.
On the occasion, 25 girls and boys each were given helmets by SP Traffic Gurjot Singh Kaler on behalf of Mahindra & Mahindra, Swaraj Division (formerly Punjab Tractors Limited), Mohali.
Nearly 100 students along with entire faculty of the college attended the
function.
Prominent amongst others who attended the function included Regional Transport Authority Sukhwinder Kumar, General Manager Mahindra & Mahindra Swaraj Division Ranjan Kumar Mishra, Head of Physical Education Department Prof. Simarpreet Kaur, ASI Traffic Education Cell Janak Raj and Motor Vehicle Inspector Ranpreet Singh.
