DW BUREAU Braving all odds, Yashveer Goyal, who has been suffering from deafness and is a recipient of two national awards and two state awards, has been giving free online coaching to deaf youths to enable them to compete in various competitions. Yashveer, who has done masters in history and graduation in sociology, has been coaching the deaf youths in general english, reasoning, mathematics, general knowledge and other subjects by making online videos by using sign language and writing on the board. Yashveer Goyal, who has crossed 22, was given national youth award on August 12, 2021 by Union Minister for Youth Affairs and Sports Anurag Thakur, was given national award in role model category by the then Vice-President M Venkaiah Naidu on December 3, 2019. Earlier, he has been given state award and state disability award in the year 2018 by the Punjab government. The main issue, on which he has been focusing, is connected with the coaching the youth to enable them to get success in recruitment competitions of posts of bank clerical, bank officer, staff selection commission and state government posts. For this task, he has set up his own classroom in his house. "I have been preparing for various competitive exams myself. I started coaching other deaf youth free online as I felt that the state government had not made any arrangement where deaf people can go for taking coaching," he disclosed when asked about his purpose of giving free on line coaching adding that, "it also hone up my skills."
