MP Preneet Kaur inaugurating the PSA oxygen generation plant at Rajindra Hospital, in Patiala

Member of Parliament from Patiala Preneet Kaur inaugurated the second PSA (Pressure Swing Adsorption) oxygen generation plant with the capacity of 600 LPM, at Rajindra Hospital's Super Speciality building.
Expressing gratitude to the Hero Group for bearing Rs one crore cost of the newly commissioned oxygen plant, she said that it would cater the needs of Super Speciality Building as the whole building has been arranged supply from this plant.
She said that with the operationalisation of this plant, now the capacity of generation of oxygen through PSA technique has been enhanced to 1950 Liters per minute besides three manifolds (cylinder supply) and a Liquid Medical Oxygen plant of 6 KL capacity already in working. Similarly, commissioning of three more PSA plants of 1000 litres per minute each and a 20 KL capacity LMO plant is in process.
"These PSA plants will immensely be beneficial in meeting the escalating demand of medical oxygen and will help in making Patiala self-sufficient in meeting its own heightened oxygen requirements due to the Covid-19", said the Patiala MP while interacting with the media afterwards.
She further said that this plant will generate oxygen from air which will ultimately be delivered to the patients through already laid down pipes and it will produce oxygen amounting to around 120 D type cylinders daily.
Pankaj Munjal, who joined this inaugural ceremony virtually from London, while appreciating the move of Punjab Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh to boost the industry in Punjab, said that it's our duty towards the people of state to help them in testing times by making some contributions.
His son and Director of Hero Cycles, while physically attending the ceremony, said that Hero Group always served the people, firstly by manufacturing cycles, now by introducing e-cycle. We contribute not only to humanity through CSR activities but also to the environment by keeping it green.
Lauding the efforts of Rajindra Hospital in fighting this deadly virus, she said, "The entire staff and team of Rajindra Hospital deserve a special appreciation for their frontline efforts to save lives."
Prominent among others present on the occasion included Chairman PRTC K K Sharma, Information Commissioner Amrit Partap Singh, Deputy Principal Secretary/CM Rajesh Kumar Sharma, Additional Deputy Commissioner Pooja Sayal Grewal, Principal GMC Patiala Dr. Rajan Singla, Vice Principal Dr. SPS Sibia, and Medical Superintendent Rajindra Hospital Dr. H S Rekhi.
