Gursewak Singh Lumbi of Punjabi Department of Punjabi University Patiala was the chief guest on this occasion. Dr Mahipinder Kaur, Professor in Punjabi Department of the college, welcomed the guests. College student Amanjot Kaur recited a song dedicated to the mother tongue and Simarjit Kaur recited her poem. While talking of the usefulness of youth festivals she said these festivals provide us a platform for good performance. She also spoke about importance of mother tongue on this occasion. She said one can understand easily the particular subject through mother language instead of foreign language. She said all the subjects have its own significance but mother language make every subject easy. Meanwhile international mother tongue day was also observed at the office of anti corruption front office here. Punjabi lovers gathered at this office and Bihari Lal Saddi a scholar of English and Punjabi languages while addressing the audience said there is no match of talking and speaking in one s own language.
