category Regional, samrala, , tags Regional, samrala, , DW BUREAU Samrala On the instructions of Dyama Harish Kumar Om Parkash, SSP Khanna and under the supervision of Dr Pragya Jain, SP (I), Wariyam Singh Khehra, DSP Samrala, and Bhinder Singh SHO Samrala and his team caught a snatcher Hardip Singh alias Mani, a resident of Khattra Choharam, along with 12 stolen mobile phones and six more are expected to be recovered from him. Waryam Singh Khehra, DSP, told media persons that the accused Hardip Singh who basically belonged to village Khattra Chohlam under Dehlon police station was now living with his aunt Manpreet Kaur in a rented house in local Kamal Colony. He used to snatch mobile phones from the easy targets like children, common man and labourers who will not resist or harm him. The police officer said there are three cases already registered against him in different police stations. Now he shifted his area of action in Khanna, Machhiwara and Samrala. He said police were getting his judicial remand and further revelations would come to the fore after extensive interrogation. His co-accused will also be traced. He said he was active in this area for the last four months. He said a police naka was set up at local Bharthala road and during checking he was caught along with the stolen mobiles. A case under 379-B under IPC was registered against him. Earlier Samrala police had caught a person along with one kg opium. (editor dailyworld.in)
