MLA from Phillaur assembly constituency Vikramjit Singh Chaudhary hosted a dinner for the senior Congress leaders of the Doaba region at his residence on Thursday and discussed the strategy to take on the Aam Aadmi Party government for its governance failures. The dinner was attended by Congress Legislature Party leader and Qadian MLA Partap Singh Bajwa, Jalandhar MP Santokh Singh Chaudhary, Kapurthala MLA Rana Gurjeet Singh, deputy CLP leader Dr Raj Kumar Chabbewal, Shahkot MLA Hardev Singh Laadi, Adampur MLA Sukhwinder Singh Kotli, Phagwara MLA Balwinder Singh Dhaliwal, Jalandhar mayor Jagdish Raja, former minister Amarjit Singh Samra, and former MLAs Sushil Rinku, Chaudhary Surinder Singh and Rajinder Beri, and Congress candidate from Nakodar constituency Navjot Singh Dahiya.
MLA Vikramjit Chaudhary stated that the leaders discussed several things, including the future roadmap of the Congress party in Punjab and the performance of the AAP government in the last one month.
"The Bhagwant Mann government is completing one month in a couple of days. It is a matter of extreme disappointment that even after a month, the government has not started the work to fulfil promises made to the people of Punjab. AAP got a huge mandate from the public, but its performance has been below expectations so far. As the main opposition party, Congress will play its constructive role and hold the government accountable inside and outside Vidhan Sabha," he said.
