DW BUREAU / Chandigarh The Municipal Corporation Chandigarh has engaged prominent singer as brand ambassador for Swachh Survekshan-2023 campaign. Today he met with Smt. Sarbjit Kaur, Mayor and Anindita Mitra, IAS, Commissioner, MC Chandigarh and gave him consent letter for the same. Kanhiya Mittal said that he will chalk out a plan to reach the city people for creating awareness regarding Swachh Survekshan-2023. He said that his main focus will be on segregation of waste at source level, Home Composting, against the use of single use plastic and he will plan awareness activities during his concerts. Born and brought up in Chandigarh Kanhiya Mittal is usually known for devotional songs. The singer was briefed about the Swachh Bharat Mission components and the need of the hour. He had shown great interest in joining hands with the MCC to help out to make the city win Swachhta Ka Taaj. The singer shall take up promotional activities in association with MCC IEC team and create awareness among masses regarding SBM guidelines such as waste segregation, Home composting, discarding the single use plastic, anti littering etc. (editor@dailyworld.in)
