Selja said that when we (Kumari Selja, Randeep Singh Surjewala, and Kiran Choudhary) exposed this scam in front of the government, the government turned a blind eye. She said that the amount paid by the government to the company should be recovered with interest and an FIR should be filed against the company. Additionally, action should be taken against officials who paid the company without physical verification. Selja said that in this scandal, the government had handed over the property ID survey work in the state s urban areas to Jaipur-based Yashi Company. Problems with the survey by the company became apparent right from the beginning, and people started making noise. However, during that time, the public s outcry was not heard by municipal officials, administrators, and the government. Thousands of complaints were sent to the Chief Minister and municipal ministers, but no action was taken. She said that we raised our voice against the scam in the property ID survey along with Randeep Singh Surjewala and Kiran Choudhary, but the government remained silent, and no steps were taken to investigate such a significant scam. It felt like there was some understanding between the government and the company, and the officials had the government s protection. She said that the government had assigned the Yashi Company to conduct surveys in 88 cities of the state. Flaws in the company s surveys became known, and people kept running between offices to get them corrected, but there was no hearing on the CM s window. She said that when we raised our voices against the flaws in the property ID survey, it seemed like the government had turned a deaf ear. Finally, the matter reached the Lokayukta. Complaints were filed against 12 IAS officers, including the municipal minister and 88 officials. The Lokayukta exposed the truth and shocked the government. The government, in haste, took action against the Yashi Company, blacklisting it, stopping the pending payment of 8.06 crore rupees, and cancelling its tender. She said that blacklisting alone is not sufficient. The government should recover the amount of 57.55 crore rupees from the company with interest, and an FIR should be filed. She said that strict action should be taken against officials who paid the company without physical verification. She said that in this scam, the names of all officials involved with the company should be made public so that the public can identify those officials who had the government s support. She said that during the surveys conducted by this company, 42,57,579 errors were found, which people kept trying to rectify by visiting one office after another, even if it was a minor issue. There was no action on the CM s window. People continued to suffer, but the government remained unconcerned because corrupt officials enjoyed complete protection from the government. Kumari Selja said that the BJP government is trying to mislead the public with false achievements. (editor dailyworld.in)
