Kshatipurti portal to help farmers to report crop damage: Dushyant

He informed the house that in the last 6 months more than 34,000 farmers of 2,720 villages have reported crop loss of 1,57,504 acre of land due to hailstorm and incessant rains. In the past 2 years the government has ensured to provide Rs. 1150.26 crores compensation against crop damages directly to the affected farmers, which is equal to 10 years of the UPA government. He further informed that under Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana, Rs. 5667.02 crores have been disbursed in the account of farmers from Kharif 2016 to Rabi 2021-22. The Deputy Chief Minister said this while responding to the calling attention motion on the last day of the budget session in the Vidhan Sabha today. He continued by saying that after getting a detailed report of the crop damages caused by the rain during the previous four days, special girdawari orders had been given to the deputy commissioners. According to the report, more than 25 of the total sown crops have reportedly been damaged in 11 districts and there less crop damages reported in the other 11 districts. He apprised the house that it would take 5-7 days to figure out the exact extent of crop damage. The Deputy Chief Minister said that in the year 2022, Rs. 151.42 crores will be given to compensate for crop loss due to hailstorm, Rs. 614.63 crores for 2021 due to heavy rains and Rs. 269.77 crores for kharif crop loss in 2020 and Rs. 114.44 crores have been given to farmers for rabi crops. He said that now farmers are not being given cheques, compensation is transferred directly to the bank accounts of the farmers. That s why farmers have to get their account updated. As soon as the farmers get their account updated in the treasury, the money will be transferred to their account. The Deputy Chief Minister informed that between 2010 and 2015, farmers who failed to turn up to collect their claims, a total of Rs. 1000 crores are lying with the treasury. If the farmers do not come to take this money, then it should be spent for the upliftment of the farmers. The Deputy CM said that Haryana being an agrarian State, the Government is conscious of its responsibility to safeguard the interest of farmers. Wherever the farmers suffer any loss due to damage to crops, it becomes the prime duty of the Government to compensate them to the extent possible. He said that the Government provides immediate relief to the victims of drought, dust storm, earthquake, fire, fire caused due to short-circuit or electric sparking, lightning, flood, hailstorm, landslide, cloud burst, cold wave frost, heat wave and pest attack in terms of gratuitous relief for crop damage, animal husbandry losses, fishery losses, handicrafts handloom losses, housing, loss of personal property in case of fire from the State Disaster Response Fund.
