The SIT has released a video footage of the non-Sikh youth carrying a baseball roaming around at the incident site and request public to provide information about the person. The SIT Chief, L K Yadav has sought information from general public, shopkeepers, passers-by, local residents etc about the incident that took place on October 14, 2015 at around 6.30 pm at Battiwala Chowk, Kotkapura. Releasing the CCTV camera footage just a few minutes before the incident, Yadav said that the SIT is trying to identity a non-Sikh youth is walking around the devotees with a baseball. He assured that the name and the address of the person who provides the information will be kept confidential. Meanwhile, the SIT probing the police firing incident at Kotkapura in 2015 has summoned two former IPS officers retired DGP Rohit Chaudhary and retired IGP Ranbir Singh Khatra and then Special Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister Gagandeep Singh Brar on Monday for questioning. They have been asked to appear before the SIT at Punjab Police Officers Institute in Sector 32, Chandigarh in connection with two FIRs registered at the Kotkapura city police station on October 14, 2015, and August 7, 2018.
