Join NSS or NCC, Governor calls on youth

Bandaru Dattatraya said that in order to make the country strong and secure, every youth should come forward to serve the country and the society by taking training as a cadet of the National Cadet Corps (NCC) and as a volunteer of the National Service Scheme (NSS). Bandaru Dattatraya was addressing as the chief guest during the state-level felicitation ceremony of NCC cadets and NSS volunteers; who participated in the Republic Day Parade of the year 2023, at Haryana Raj Bhavan here today. The programme was organized by the Higher Education Department, Haryana under the chairmanship of Higher Education Minister, Sh. Mool Chand Sharma. The Governor said that the NCC cadets and NSS volunteers are an ideal disciplined youth for the society, who are dedicated to the nation. The Governor said that 90 percent of the people in the society are virtuous and well behaved. It is the responsibility of NCC and NSS volunteers to bring the remaining 10 percent people under discipline. Today, around 15 lakh NCC cadets and 40 lakh NSS volunteers across the country are working with great enthusiasm in this direction and are confident to curb the social evils, he added. Sh. Bandaru Dattatraya said that the NCC cadets and NSS volunteers will continue to contribute significantly in the upliftment of the society by eradicating social evils like drug addiction, untouchability, atrocities against women, dowry system and will continue to serve the humanity as cultural and social messengers of the state. NCC, NSS formed to make youth partners in nation building, inculcate spirit of discipline and unity: Higher Education Minister Higher Education Minister, Sh. Mool Chand Sharma extended greetings to the promising cadets of the state; who were felicitated for participating in the Republic Day Parade of the year 2023. He said that the volunteers of NCC and NSS have brought laurels to the state and every tenth soldier in the Army is from Haryana. NCC and NSS were formed to encourage the youth to become partners in nation building, social service and to inculcate in them the spirit of discipline, unity and patriotism, he added. Appreciating the efforts of NCC and NSS, Sh. Mool Chand Sharma said that the cadets of NCC and NSS have shown exemplary service during natural calamities. He said that the cadets have also done a commendable job in social service like blood donation, tree plantation, environment, literacy and anti-dowry campaign. I believe that every youth of the country should contribute in social service by becoming a cadet of NCC and NSS. For this, schools and colleges should also motivate more and more students to become volunteers of these organisations, he added. (editor dailyworld.in)
