R Ambedkar Jayanti in collaboration with Central Valmiki Sabha. The event was organized by the University and Dr. B. R. Ambedkar Jagriti Welfare Society. A Jagriti Yatra was taken out which started from Amloh and concluded at Desh Bhagat University campus. Dr. Zora Singh, Chancellor, Desh Bhagat University, said that Dr. Ambedkar was popularly known as Babasaheb Ambedkar and everyone knows that he was one of the architects of the Indian Constitution. He was a very well-known political leader, eminent jurist, philosopher, anthropologist, historian, orator, writer, economist, scholar and editor. Dr. Davinder Singh, Director, Department of Social Science, said that Dr. Ambedkar was the leader of the Dalits. He fought against the issue of caste discrimination. He played a key role in the framing of the Indian Constitution. He led the movement started by the Dalits to have the right to enter temples. He was a vocal critic of the caste system. Dr. Davinder Singh said that free medical camp, education awareness camp, career counselling sessions, social welfare camp, anti-drugs campaigns were also organised during the event. Dr. Kuldeep Chand Agnihotri, Central University, Himachal Pradesh, Pramod Kumar, Head, Social Welfare, and Davinder, Superintendent, Khadi Board Punjab were the guest speakers at the function.
