HPPC approves purchases of more than Rs

The meeting of the High Powered Purchase Committee (HPPC) chaired by Chief Minister, Manohar Lal today approved the purchases of goods and items to be procured by various departments worth more than Rs. 100 crore. A total of three agendas, including two of the Education and one of the Power department, were tabled in the meeting.
Education Minister, Kanwar Pal and Transport Minister, Sh. Mool Chand Sharma also remained present on this occasion.
Later sharing the details regarding purchases made in the meeting during a media interaction, Education Minister, Sh. Kanwar Pal said that procurement of Personalized and Adaptive Learning (PAL) software costing more than Rs. 5 crore for classes IX to XII was also approved in the meeting.
This PAL software will be preloaded in the tablets which would be provided to students studying in these classes for a total of 10 subjects, shared the Education Minister.
"Besides this, procurement of around 5 lakh Data SIM Cards costing Rs. 47 crore has also been approved by the Committee. These SIM cards would be inserted into the tablets with a daily data limit of 2GB. Also, in the month of May around 2.5 lakh tabs would be distributed to the students studying in classes X to XII" shared Sh. Kanwar Pal.
The Education Minister further informed that Committee has also given nod for the procurement of supply of 11 meter long PCC poles for meeting the requirements of Uttar Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam (UHBVN) and Dakshin Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam (DHBVN) costing Rs. 48.89 crore.

Shimla Himachal Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur while addressing a massive public meeting at Chamba Chowgan in Chamba Vidhan Sabha Area of Chamba district after inaugurating and laying foundation stones of developmental projects worth about Rs. 196 crore for the constituency announced opening of Sub Tehsil and Jal Shakti Division at Saho, upgradation of Government Primary Schools (GPS) at Guward, Dhanoti, Tadoli and Bhujja, upgradation of GPS Saar, Parel and Chhaterdi to Middle schools, upgdadation of Govt. High schools Kaded, Raan and Oda to Senior Secondary Schools, opening of veterinary dispensary at Dhabrain, opening of health sub centres at Palhuin, Kaila and Kakian, starting of science classes at Govt. Senior Secondary Schools Mangla and Jadera.
He said that Rs. 25 crore ropeway would be constructed from new bus stand to Chowgan and the same has been sent for approval to the Centre. He said that efforts would be made to include Chamba under UDAAN so that flights could be started from Chamba to Shimla and Chandigarh.
Chief Minister said that history has been created as he has today dedicated 22 developmental projects worth Rs. 73 crore, besides laying foundation stone of developmental projects worth Rs. 123 crore.
He said that Chamba district has been selected as aspirational district by the Union Government to ensure that special funds were available directly from the Centre to accelerate the pace of development.
