category Regional, shimla, , tags Regional, shimla, , DW BUREAU Shimla The State Cabinet in its meeting held here today under the Chairmanship of Chief Minister, Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, decided to fill up 5291 vacant posts of TGT and other categories in the elementary education department. These posts include 1070 posts of TGT (Arts), 776 TGT (Non-Medical), 430 TGT (Medical), 494 Shastri and 2521 posts of JBT teachers. This step would go a long way in ensuring quality education to the students and cope with the shortage of teaching staff. The Cabinet decided to fill up 28 posts of Medical Officers (Dental) in the Department of Dental Health Services. Furthermore, it has been decided that in case any Civil Hospital or CHC does not have the post of Medical Officer (dental), it will be created and filled up. It also decided to fill up four posts of Surveyor in Industries Department and two posts of District Controller Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs. The Cabinet decided to open Rajiv Gandhi Government Model Day Boarding Schools in every assembly segment of the State for providing quality education to the children. In the first phase 13 sites have been identified and construction activities will commence shortly. These schools will have modern facilities like Hi-tech Smart Class Rooms, play fields etc. In addition, children belonging to pre-primary and primary wing will be provided an open play area where they can play games during the day-boarding time. The Cabinet gave go-ahead for notifying Rajiv Gandhi Swarojgar Yojna-2023 in order to promote self-employment opportunities and to provide livelihood to the local youth by encouraging entrepreneurship. E-taxis, e-trucks and e-buses, dental facilities and fishery activities have been brought under the ambit of this scheme. It decided to amend the Rule-16 of H.P. Town and Country Planning Rules, 2014 to make the Attic floor habitable. It accorded sanction for a project of Revenue Enhancement and Capacity Augmentation in Himachal Pradesh. Under the project the State Taxes and Excise Department will be able to access the real-time data of defaulters of GST. This project will also have special tools for data preparation in order to take prompt action against the defaulters thereby increasing the revenue for the State exchequer. Further, in order to grant one time relief upto 30th June, 2023 to the defaulters of Passengers and Goods Tax, the Cabinet accorded its approval to waive off penalty and interest on Goods Tax of Passengers and Goods Tax (PGT). The State Government aims to realize the principal amount of PGT from Goods Carriers in Himachal Pradesh in order to implement Special Road Tax in lieu of PGT. (editor dailyworld.in)
