Haryana to spend Rs 77 crore for devp of 20 blocks under SKUY

category Regional, chandigarh, , tags Regional, chandigarh, , DW BUREAU Chandigarh Haryana Government will spend about Rs 77 crore for the development of 20 identified backward blocks of 8 districts during the first phase of Swaranjayanti Khand Utthan Yojana (SKUY) in 2023-24. These funds are being provided for financial resources for supplementing and converging existing development inflows into the identified blocks. The budget was approved by State Level Empowered Committee under Swaranjayanti Khand Utthan Yojana chaired by the Chief Secretary Sanjeev Kaushal here. The Chief Secretary said that the objective of the scheme is to identify the underdeveloped blocks besides bringing the gaps in local infrastructure and development that cannot be made through existing schemes. In addition to this, the scheme aims at improving livelihood opportunities through skill development programmes in convergence with other schemes, skill development design and marketing support in convergence with other departments. This initiative would ensure adequate flow of funds to these identified blocks through special components in the normal existing schemes. The Chief Secretary directed the officers to expand the scope of objective and also issue detailed guidelines to the field officers for the proper implementation of Swaranjayanti Khand Utthan Yojana in the time bound manner. In the meeting it was apprised that the working parameters adopted in the first phase are land irrigated area, literate people, villages with high school education facilities, villages with any health care facilities, female literacy rate and enrolment of girls in schools. Identified 20 blocks of eight districts are namely: Loharu, Behal, Siwani, Kairu, Badhra, Guhla, Nuh, Punhana, Taoru Nagina, Firozpur Jhirka, Hathin, Morni, Pinjore, Raipur Rani, Barwala, Rewari, Bawal, Sadaura and Chhachhrauli.
