Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal presiding over the review meeting of Chairpersons and CEOs of Zila Parishads at Chandigarh on Saturday

category Regional, chandigarh, , tags Regional, chandigarh, , DW BUREAU Chandigarh In a strategic move to enhance the efficiency and upkeep of roads, the Haryana Chief Minister said that the state government has decided to transfer the maintenance responsibility of HSAMB (Haryana State Agricultural Marketing Board) roads to the respective Zila Parishads. This decision aims to streamline the process of annual repair and special repair, ensuring the longevity and quality of the road infrastructure. He also directed the officers to establish dedicated engineering wings for projects in Zila Parishads, ensuring that the work would not be affected. This was disclosed in the meeting chaired by Chief Minister, Mr. Manohar Lal with Chairpersons and CEOs of Zila Parishads to review the projects at district level here today. Development and Panchayats Minister, Mr. Devender Singh Babli along with Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister, Mr. V Umashankar and Additional Chief Secretary, Development and Panchayats, Mr. Anil Malik were also present in the meeting. The Chief Minister conducted an extensive assessment of the advancement of ongoing projects within districts under Zila Parishads, including Rural Sports Stadiums, Chaupals, Community Centres, Street Lights, Indoor Gyms, E-Libraries, and Health Centers. Furthermore, he urged officers to expedite the progress of these projects. The Chief Minister Mr. Manohar Lal emphasized the need for efficient coordination among the Chairpersons and CEOs of Zila Parishads to streamline and accelerate the progress of projects in the respective districts. He directed them to ensure a collaborative effort to overcome any delays in ongoing works. In an effort to improve the infrastructure of smaller villages, the Chief Minister instructed officers to repair and pave the unpaved Phirnias in the state s rural areas. It was apprised in the meeting that there is a proposal to establish an additional 1000 e-Libraries in Gram Panchayats, categorized into three groups based on their population. (editor dailyworld.in)
