Haryana Animal Husbandry and Dairying Minister, Sh. JP Dalal said that the state government is committed to ensuring the health care of livestock in the state. Recently VLDA have been recruited. A demand has also been sent to meet the shortage of doctors.

JP Dalal was replying to a question asked by a member during the question hour in the ongoing Budget Session of the Vidhan Sabha here today.

The Minister said that to ensure timely treatment of the animals, 70 mobile vans are running in the state. Besides this, for the convenience of livestock owners, a call centre has been set up. When livestock owners call, the doctor will go to the house, examine the animal and give medicine. The government will also monitor the response time of the doctors, said J.P Dalal.

He said that the Pashu Dhan Bima Yojana is also being run by the government and animals are insured for Rs 100 and Rs 200. In case of any accident, insurance claims are given to the livestock owners. About 10-11 lakh animals have been covered under this insurance scheme.

Livestock owners belonging to Scheduled Castes get free insurance coverage. Apart from this, an insurance scheme is also being run for sheep and goats, said the Minister.

J.P Dalal further informed that the availability of medicines is also being ensured continuously. Soon a rate contract will be signed for purchasing medicines worth Rs 100 crore.
