Gian Chand Gupta inaugurates working women hostel worth Rs 8 crore

Haryana Vidhan Sabha Speaker, Gian Chand Gupta said that development works worth about Rs 400 crore has been undertaken in the sectors across river Ghaggar in the last seven years. He said that prior to 2014, the residents of sectors across the river remained deprived of necessary facilities.
Gupta was addressing the people after inaugurating the newly constructed Working Women Hostel in Sector-27 on Wednesday . Former Union Minister of State and MP Ambala Lok Sabha, Rattan Lal Kataria and Mayor Municipal Corporation, Kulbhushan Goyal was also present on the occasion.
While referring to the development works being carried out in various sectors across Ghaggar river, Gupta said that the construction work of NIFT in Sector-23 is almost completed at a cost of Rs 150 crore and it would be inaugurated next month. Apart from this, a Government Polytechnic and Skill Development Center has been set up in Sector-26 at a cost of about Rs 30 crore, in which youth are being imparted training in various courses of one week to three years duration so as to enhance their skills and make them employable.
Gupta said that with a view to ensure better connectivity of Sector-20, a bridge has been constructed in Sector-23 and 24 at a cost of about Rs 65 crore. This bridge would provide direct connectivity to Sector 20 with the rest of Panchkula and even Punjab.
He said that a multi-featured park is being set up on 18 acres of land in Sector-24 at a cost of Rs 30 crore. The park will be the best park in the tricity, said Gupta adding that facilities like open air theater, open cafe, cycling and jogging track, table garden, foot over bridge, meditation garden, skating rink, musical fountain etc will be made available in this park. Apart from this, there is also a plan to build two hotel-cum-banquet halls along the park.
Gupta said that in order to provide better health facilities to the people, Polyclinic in sector-26 has been upgraded, wherein apart from providing all the necessary facilities of a good hospital, arrangements of specialized doctors have also been made. He said that a 66 KV sub-station has been constructed in Sector-26 to provide uninterrupted power in the area. Moreover, an office has also been set up for redressal of electricity related complaints of the residents.
