Haryana Chief Minister, Manohar Lal on Sunday said that social evils like drug abuse have become a major concern for the State. So far this year 40 deaths have been reported due to drug abuse in Sirsa and Fatehabad districts. Eliminating Drug abuse is my utmost priority, said Manohar Lal. To curb this social evil, more and more de-addiction centers will be opened in the Sirsa district. Besides this, awareness campaigns would also be launched by Police and Narcotics Bureau and by forming committees at the village level. Also, strict action will be taken against drug peddlers, said Sh. Manohar Lal.
While underlining the fact that in Haryana corruption will not be tolerated at any cost, the Chief Minister also gave the slogan 'Bhrashtachar ka Kaal, Manohar Lal'. Corruption had been going since long. No one dared to stop this but since we came to power no one involved in corrupt practices is being spared and the strictest action is being taken against the corrupt.
Taking strict cognizance against corruption, as many as 800 accused involved in the paper leak scam have been put behind the bars and the search for 300 is still on. The deserving youth are getting jobs on merit basis ending the age-old 'Parchi Kharchi' culture. Today, if anyone gives information about corruption, immediate action is taken. Vigilance has also been divided into seven parts, said Sh. Manohar Lal.
The Chief Minister said that now through the Gram Darshan and Nagar Darshan Portal, anyone can raise their problems related to their locality while sitting at home only. The problem would certainly be resolved by the concerned department.
We have set up big projects in the entire state. As many as 17 New National Highways have been declared in the state. Out of these, six have been completed. A network of roads is being laid across the state. Railway Under Bridges or Railway Over Bridges are being built at the railway crossings in the cities.
The Chief Minister said that an announcement has been made to open medical colleges in every district of the state. The land has also been identified in the Sirsa district.
When our government was formed in 2014, there were 750 MBBS seats. With the opening of new medical colleges, now these seats have become 1600 and when more medical colleges will open in each district, then these seats will go upto 2900. With this, there will be no shortage of doctors in the state. Simultaneously, the government has opened a girls' college within a radius of every 20 kms. Under the 'Chhatra Parivahan Suraksha Yojana' the government is also emphasizing ensuring their safety.
Chief Minister said that continuous improvement is being done in the field of education. In the latest report presented by NITI Aayog, Haryana has been placed first in bringing educational reforms. The state government has distributed tablets free of cost to 5 lakh students of classes X, XI and XII by spending Rs 650 crore. Haryana is the first state in the country to do so. The government is continuously opening Model Sanskriti Schools, said Manohar Lal.
