DW BUREAU / chandigarh Ajay Jagga, Ex-member, Consumer Protection Council has urged V P Singh Badnore, Governor of Punjab and Administrator UT and Manoj Parida, Advisor to Administrator to issue directions to all the cooperative societies of Chandigarh to upload their data and operations on the related website of UT for facilitating common people and members. In a representation he said that it will reduce litigation, disputes between members and management, will facilitate common people to verify the details of real owners before taking a flat on rent or buying a property from other member; ·It will also empower the consumers/buyers. Jagga said that in view of facilitating common people/members to look into financial records & operations of the Registered Societies, the neighboring State of Haryana has directed all the registered societies of Haryana to upload their records on the official website of Haryana i.e. rcsharyana.gov.in. The Government of Haryana has rightly said that it would also facilitate common people wanting to buy or rent a plot or flat in these societies as they would be able to access all basic details about the societies through the portal and about the real owners. The observation of the state is also that it will reduce the disputes and litigation of cooperative societies. (editor@dailyworld.in)
