Sandeep Hans, Deputy Commissioner, visited Government Rajindra Hospital and reviewed the preparations in the wake of apprehension of a third wave of Covid while visiting the MCH block. He also took stock of the dengue ward to know about the line of treatment of Dengue patients admitted here for treatment.
The Deputy Commissioner also inspected the night shelter and canteen of the Red Cross including the superspecialty block here and interacted with the nursing staff sitting on the dharna.
Sandeep Hans held a meeting with the Principal of Government Medical College, Dr Harjinder Singh, Head, Department of Medicine Dr RPS Sibia, Head of Pediatrics Department Dr Baljinder Kaur and Deputy Medical Superintendent Dr Vinod Dangwal and reviewed the treatment facilities at Government Rajindra Hospital.
He said that at the MCH building of Rajindra Hospital, patients suffering from the Covid-19 pandemic have been treated very well and even now the hospital has all the necessary arrangements including oxygen and medicines in view of the apprehensions of a third wave of Covid.
The Deputy Commissioner, meanwhile, directed the management to strengthen the sanitation arrangements in the Red Cross 'Rehan Basera' and also to repair the canteen of the Red Cross. Asking the doctors to be more vigilant, the Deputy Commissioner said that the health of the patients admitted in the Dengue ward of Rajindra Hospital was improving and no patient was critical.
Sandeep Hans said that as per the directions of Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi, no patient would be allowed to face any difficulty and there is no shortage of platelets and medicines.
Meanwhile, the Deputy Commissioner while interacting with the protesting nursing staff urged them to end their dharna in the interest of the patients and assured that a proper solution would be worked out by conveying their demands to the state government.
Principal Dr Harjinder Singh assured the Deputy Commissioner that doctors at Rajindra Hospital were making all possible efforts for the better treatment of the patients admitted here as per the instructions of the Punjab government.
