DW BUREAU Yashveer Goyal, an absolutely deaf youth of this city, who has carved a niche in different fields and won various national and international awards, still continues to inspire other youths, suffering from different kind of disabilities, by scoring 68 per cent marks in his masters degree in history. Yashveer, who has won National Youth Award and National Award as Role Model, State Awards twice and International Achievement Award for his outstanding achievements in different arenas, made another mark in his career as he scored 68 per cent in Masters degree from Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU). Earlier various governmental and non-governmental organisations of Punjab and neighbouring Haryana have honoured Yashveer for acquiring monumental feats in different faculties. Yashveer, who is 23, was given National Youth Award on August 12, 2021 by the Union Minister for Youth Affairs and Sports Anurag Thakur and was given National Award in Role Model category by Vice-President M Venkaiah Naidu on December 3, 2019. Earlier, he was given State Award and State Disability Award in the year 2018 by the Punjab Government. Born with absolute hearing impairment and congenital deformities, Yashveer Goyal has excelled in the field of general education, computer education, information technology, sports (chess and badminton), photography, speech contest (Indian sign language), poster making, quiz contest and Mission Fateh programme. He has been educating the deaf in the field of mathematics and reasoning through a YouTube channel made by him. (editor@dailyworld.in)
