The award ceremony was organised by the Indian Academy of Fine Arts, Amritsar. Dr. Zora Singh, Chancellor of Desh Bhagat University, congratulated Dr. Rahul Dhiman for this achievement. He said that the Department of Fone Arts has always been hard working, focused and this award has added to their list of achievements. The award was presented to Dr. Rahul Dhiman by Dr. Inderbir Singh Nijjar, Cabinet Minister of Punjab. Dr. Rahul Dhiman said that an exhibition was also organised in this award ceremony. In the exhibition, 300 artists from all over the country sent their art works, out of which 183 art works were selected for the exhibition. Out of the selected works, 20 artists were given the Punjab State Award. An art work entitled Path of Truth , created by Dr. Rahul Dhiman, was selected to be showcased in the exhibition. Along with this, the art works of his students Mahima, Jatin, Muskan, Arun, and Gurpreet were also selected for the exhibition. It is worth mentioning that Dr. Rahul Dhiman has won many state and national awards in fine arts as well as in Punjabi folk dance. (editor dailyworld.in)
