DW BUREAU The Directorate of Extension Education used to organize monthly meetings for dairy farmers of Punjab for their welfare. Due to pandemic Covid-19 conditions, the meetings were reoriented through online mode on a monthly basis and many farmers initially showed keen interest in these webinars. However, recently the participation of dairy farmers in such webinars dipped significantly. To boost their participation and to motivate the budding dairy farmers, Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University (GADVASU), Ludhiana has restarted the monthly seminars in physical mode. The latest Monthly Seminar was organized by the Directorate of Extension Education at Farmer Information Centre. Dairy farmers of Punjab and members of PLFA (Punjab Livestock Farmers' Association) participated in this seminar. The key speakers were Dr D K Gupta from Department of Veterinary Medicine and Dr R K Sharma from Department of Veterinary and Animal Husbandry Extension Education. They speak on the topics "Lumpy skin disease of dairy animals" and "Injudicious use of antibiotics at field level", respectively. The farmers interacted with the scientists enthusiastically.The next seminar will be held on December 9. Any livestock farmer of the state can participate in this seminar. (editor@dailyworld.in)
