Capacity building workshop for teachers concludes

The seven days virtual national level capacity workshop for teachers which was inaugurated by Prof (Dr) Arvind, Vice-Chancellor of Punjabi University, and was organized by 'Internal Quality Assurance Cell' of Multani Mal Modi College, in collaboration with Council for Teacher Education Foundation concluded here today.
This workshop was organized to train the teachers for integration of pedagogy and technology in teaching, learning and research. The Valedictory session was chaired by Prof. Karamjit Singh, Vice- Chancellor, Jagat Guru Nanak Dev Punjab State Open University, Patiala.
The Presidential address in this session was delivered by Prof. Nilima Bhagabati, International Secretary General, Council for Teacher Education Foundation, and Prof. Emeritus, Guwahati University. She appreciated the dedication and contribution of teachers during this phase of global pandemic.
College principal Dr. Khushvinder kumar appreciated the content and deliverance of this training workshop and said that teachers need to be updated in their subject areas as well as in the use of different digital technologies for conducive learning. In his informative lecture on 'Outcome based Education' he explored various educational policies and how they shaped the present and future of Indian education. He said that affordable and accessible quality education should be our focus in the coming years.
In his valedictory address Prof. Karamjit Singh said the future of Indian educational system will be largely impacted by the adoption of digital technologies with progressive educational policies and by including each and every section of our society. During this training programme experts and resource persons from reputed educational institutions discussed the techniques and methodologies for making learning more inclusive and productive. In the second session of this programme while exploring the blended mode of learning Dr. Jayshree Shinde ,Director, Department of Educational Technology , SNDT Women's University, Mumbai said that we as teachers need to strike a balance between technological advancements and knowledge of a teacher.
