Campaign to check the quality of jaggery

As per the directions of Haryana Health and Family Welfare Minister, Sh. Anil Vij, the Food and Drug Administration Department has launched a campaign to check the quality of jaggery/sugar in the state. As per norms, samples of 67 food items (Jaggery, Sugar and Khand) were sent for analysis to food laboratory and 500 kg of Jaggery was confiscated from Palwal and destroyed.
Giving information in this regard, an official spokesperson said that samples of 67 food items (Jaggery, Sugar and Khand) were sent for analysis to food laboratory and 500 kg of Jaggery was seized and destroyed from the firm Mohit Kumar Atul Kumar (Palwal).
Similarly, he informed that 3 samples of jaggery and 1 sample of sugar were taken from Ambala. 3 samples of jaggery were taken from Fatehabad, 5 samples of jaggery were taken from Hisar, 4 samples of jaggery were taken from Jhajjar, one sample of jaggery and one sample of sugar were taken from Jind. Similarly, 1 sample of jaggery was taken from Kaithal, 4 samples of jaggery were taken from Karnal, 3 samples of jaggery were taken from Kurukshetra, 5 samples of jaggery were taken from Panchkula, 5 samples of jaggery were taken from Panipat and from Palwal 3 samples of jaggery were taken.
He said that 2 samples of jaggery and 2 samples of khand were taken from Rohtak, 5 samples of jaggery were taken from Sirsa, 2 samples of jaggery were taken from Sonipat, 11 samples of jaggery were taken from Yamunanagar and 6 samples of jaggery were taken from Gurugram.
The spokesperson said that food item manufacturers, sellers and food item operators have been urged to prepare and sell food items and get their business registered under the Food Safety and Standards Act, 2006 and Rules 2011.
Himachal Cm congratulates Droupadi Murmu
shimla Chief Minister Shri Jai Ram Thakur has congratulated NDA Presidential candidate Smt. Droupadi Murmu for being elected as the first tribal woman President of India.
While congratulating the President on behalf of the people of the State, the Chief Minister said that she has created a history by becoming the youngest woman President of India who came from a tribal background.
Shri Jai Ram Thakur expressed hope that Smt. Droupadi Murmu would function as custodian of the Indian Constitution in a befitting manner.
