In the wake of the Aam Aadmi Party-led Punjab government hiking the power rates in the state, the Leader of the Opposition (LoP) Partap Singh Bajwa on Saturday slammed the AAP government for making a hole in the pocket of Punjabis.?
Senior Congress Leader Bajwa said that the Aam Aadmi Party government played very cunningly. Right after the results of the Lok Sabha Elections were out, the broom party hiked the power rates for domestic consumers by 10 to 12 paise and industry by 15 paise. This is what it did last year after the Jalandhar Lok Sabha constituency by-election. The AAP government increased the power rates last year too.??Had it increased the power rates before the Lok Sabha Polls, it would not have been able to win even three constituencies.
"The people of Punjab have been already going through the toughest time ever. The inflation rate is spiraling rapidly and it has been difficult for people to manage their routine expenses. Instead of baling the people out, the CM Bhagwant Mann government has put an extra burden on the people, which is highly deplorable", Bajwa added.
Qadian legislature Bajwa said that the industry in punjab has been reeling under crisis for a long time. Many entrepreneurs and industrialists have already abandoned Punjab for other states. Meanwhile, they have been expecting some special package. However, the AAP government seems to have turned a blind eye towards them and hiked the power rate by 15 paise for industry as well.
Bajwa said this move of AAP govt is in fact anti poor and against the present Industry. CM Mann has taken a rental accommodation in Jalandhar ahead of the Jalandhar West assembly segment by-election. He will be sent back disappointed.
