Haryana Chief Minister Sh. Nayab Singh Saini said advocacy is not just a profession but a public service. Lawyers can bring positive change in society by contributing to the judicial system of the country and the field of advocacy is not limited to the knowledge of law, rather lawyers play their role in providing justice to the weaker and deprived sections of society.
Chief Minister Sh. Nayab Singh Saini said this during the oath-taking ceremony of new lawyers organized by the Punjab and Haryana Bar Council at Law Bhawan in Chandigarh today. During this, the Chief Minister administered oath to 1145 new lawyers and gave them licences.
Nayab Singh Saini said it is the result of the nationalist vision of Prime Minister Sh. Narendra Modi that independent India has got freedom from three laws of slavery after 7 decades.
He requested all the new lawyers to contribute in making the general public aware about the new laws. Apart from making three new criminal laws, Prime Minister Sh. Narendra Modi has abolished about 1600 laws. 175 unnecessary laws have also been identified in Haryana. Out of these, 28 have been repealed.
The Chief Minister said continuous work has been done for training, infrastructure, technology development, public awareness, etc. to implement the three new laws and necessary notifications have been issued to effectively implement them.
About 300 awareness programmes have been organised to make the general public aware of the three new laws. He said more than 43,000 officers and employees have been trained about the new laws. These include about 10,000 research officers. Experts from all 97 laboratories of the state have been trained.
All 555 judicial officers of the state have been trained on the three new criminal laws, all 2,167 jail officers and employees and all 741 public prosecutors have also received training in this regard. He said the Haryana Government is contributing in every possible way for lawyers and judiciary. The government is ensuring modern facilities, technical resources and training programmes for lawyers so that everyone can do their work more effectively. It is important to have coordination, transparency and ethics between lawyers and the judiciary. The rule of law is the foundation of any democratic country.
