DW BUREAU / Sangrur
Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) president Sukhbir Singh Badal today said the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government had failed on all fronts and that it would renege on its promise to give 300 units of free power as well as Rs 1,000 per month to all women in the same way as former chief minister Capt Amarinder Singh had gone back on his promises.
The SAD President, who was campaigning in this assembly constituency in favour of joint panthic and SAD-BSP candidate Kamaldeep Kaur Rajoana, said the people were fed up of the AAP government in three months only, Badal said chief minister Bhagwant Mann had failed as home minister to maintain law and order." Even religious clashes have occurred for the first time under his watch in the State. The promises made to the people including free supply of 300 units of power and Rs 1,000 per month to all women in the State have been forgotten. Even a basic necessity like power is not being given to the people with cities witnessing massive power cuts".
Badal also asserted that Mr Bhagwant Mann was a rubber stamp chief minister and that all government files were cleared by AAP mp Raghav Chadha. He said not only this all transfers and postings were also done from Delhi. He said this was the reason why there was a complete paralysis in governance in the State and all development work had come to a standstill.
When queried Badal also took on SAD (Amritsar) leader Simranjit Singh Mann stating the latter did not stand for maintaining peace and communal harmony. He said the SAD on its part had tried its best to forge panthic unity and field a common candidate for the Sangrur by-poll. "We even approached Mr Simranjit Mann and assured him of our complete support from any seat of his choice for the 2024 election to facilitate fielding of a common panthic candidate. It is unfortunate that he did not heed
this appeal".
He also castigated the SAD (Amritsar) leader for lauding Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and criticizing Shaheed Bhagat Singh.
