Supporting the struggle of the unemployed teachers, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) state Youth Wing president and MLA from Barnala, Gurmeet Singh Meet Hayer and Youth Wing co-president Anmol Gagan Mann, on Wednesday, visited the teachers agitating for employment and against Capt Amarinder Singh-led state government's 'Ghar Ghar Rozgar' campaign, outside the residence of Punjab Education Minister Vijay Inder Singla.
The AAP leaders met the teachers, discussed their grievances and assured them that the party would raise its voice for the employment of the youth of Punjab on every front. While interacting with mediapersons on the occasion the leaders said that there had not been a month since the Captain's government came to power, in which the teachers seeking employment had not endured the atrocities, and even did not get the jobs yet.
The AAP leaders asked the Punjab Education Minister to address the problems of the unemployed teachers who had been protesting outside his house for the last three weeks. They said the minister could not see the unemployed teachers sitting outside his residence in this harsh weather.
They said that instead of blaming the Aam Aadmi Party, the Education Minister should learn from the Delhi government how teachers are valued. Taking a dig at Punjab Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh and Education Minister Singla, the AAP leaders said, "Will minister Singla explain as to why he is not responding to the plight of the unemployed teachers who are protesting outside his residence from the last several days in severe cold. Will he also explain why Captain did not say a word about the teachers' protest or address their
grievances."
