20 pc of basic pay training allowance approved for police instructors

Haryana Director General of Police (DGP) Shatrujeet Kapur attended the convocation parade of Recruit Batch No. 90 at the Haryana Police Academy, Madhuban, as the chief guest today, where he took the salute. During this convocation parade, 988 recruits took the oath of duty and dedicated themselves to public service. Welcoming the chief guest, Academy Director, Dr. C.S. Rao provided essential information about the training given to the batch.
Addressing the recruits, DGP, Sh. Shatrujeet Kapur emphasised that the police represent the face of law and order in society and should interact with citizens with empathy and sensitivity. He remarked that joining the police force is not just a profession but a call to serve with integrity, courage, and compassion.
"You are embarking on a noble journey of public service, carrying the trust and hopes of the citizens. You will face challenges that will test your resolve and character. It is through your good deeds and courageous decisions that the public's faith in the Haryana Police will be strengthened," he said. He also highlighted the continuous efforts by the government and police headquarters to upgrade the police force and enhance police welfare. He mentioned that the government has approved a training allowance of 20 percent of the basic pay for instructors appointed at all Haryana Police training centers.
The Haryana government has increased the uniform allowance, ration allowance, and the ex-gratia amount given to the families of martyrs by two and a half to three times. The policy providing jobs to dependents of deceased police personnel, initiated in 2019, has already resulted in 281 people receiving employment under this scheme. Travel allowance for police personnel has also been doubled from 10 to 20 days.
DGP Kapur stated that efforts are ongoing for the welfare of police personnel and their families, including skill development for employment of children of retired and Class IV employees. The successful operation of 22 Police Public Schools at district headquarters in collaboration with DAV institutions was also noted.
E-libraries are being established in each police line, gyms have been set up to maintain the health of police personnel, and free health checks are being initiated for those over 35 years of age.
