Fourteen faculty members of Punjabi University Patiala have been named in the list of top 2 per cent scientists of the world.

According to the spokesman of the Punjabi University that database of the top 2 percent cited scientist of the world was released by Stanford University. In this list Career-long data are updated to end-of-2023 and single recent year data pertain to citations received during calendar year 2023. The selection is based on the top 100,000 scientists by c-score (with and without self-citations) or a percentile rank of 2% or above in the sub-field. This version (7) is based on the August 1, 2024 snapshot from Scopus, updated to end of citation year 2023.

As many as 14 faculty members of Punjabi University Patiala have been named in this list. From this list eight faculty members are featured in the Career-long list whose names are - Dr Ram Sarup Singh (Bio-Technology Department), Dr. Ashok Kumar Tiwary (Pharmaceutical and Drug Research), Dr. Ashok Kumar Malik (Chemistry), Dr. Parveen Lata (Mathematics), Dr. Amteshwar Jaggi (Pharmaceutical and Drug Research), Dr. Chandan Singh (Department of Computer Science Engineering), Dr. Om Silakari(Pharmaceutical and Drug Research), Dr. A.Kumar (Physics).
