13 Centers of Excellence utilizing Israeli tech set up in Haryana

The state leads the nation in the formation of Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs), with 731 FPOs established to facilitate the grading, storage, and marketing of fruits and vegetables. Moreover, 13 Centers of Excellence, employing Israeli technology have been set up across various agro-climatic zones in the state. To ensure that farmers stay abreast of modern agricultural technologies, the Haryana Government is organizing the Haryana Agricultural Development Fair from October 8 to 10, 2023, at Chaudhary Charan Singh Haryana Agricultural University, Hisar. The fair will feature agricultural and industrial exhibitions, showcasing agricultural equipment, techniques, innovations, and information on new seeds, fertilizers, pesticides, agricultural machinery, instruments, and their applications. Haryana takes pride in being the first state to introduce the Bhavantar Bharpai Yojana for all major horticulture crops. This initiative covers 21 fruit and vegetable crops, mitigating marketing risks for farmers by setting protected prices. To date, incentives totaling Rs 33.26 crore have been disbursed to 12,092 farmers. (editor dailyworld.in)
