The next verse of this epiphany describes how sages trace Vak through the Yajna (sacrifice) and discovered that it is housed residing within the Seers the Trikaal darsh in the enlightened ones.yajñena vācaḥ padavīyam āyan tām anv avindann ṛṣiṣu praviṣṭām | tām ābhṛtyā vy adadhuḥ purutrā tāṃ sapta rebhā abhi saṃ navante || Rig Veda 10.71.4Yajñena the Yagna (they) vācaḥ the ‘Word’/speech/ statement/ voice/ language; padavīyam the path āyan traversed/ went tām this/ he she/it anv behind / subsequently/ along with/ later avindann discover/ detect/find ṛṣiṣu in the Seers (Rishis )praviṣṭām permeated/ entered/ inserted |tām this/ he she/it ābhṛtyā bring vy away/ apart adadhuḥ hold/put/give cause purutrā simultaneously in many places tāṃ this/ he she/it sapta seven rebhā singing seers/ bards/ panegyric singer abhi towards saṃ sameness/ together navante praise/ announce.Implying ‘when through the sacrifice they ( the seers) followed traversing or tracing the Vak they followed, and found or detected him/her as if permeated within the Ṛṣis. He /she (Vak) was brought away but she dwelt in many places simultaneously, seven bardic singers of praise towards together in the same tone they announce the praises in concert.

The verse suggests that logos or apaurshya ( not made by human) speech/ language is more than an externality of nomenclature or naming . It is the essence whose trace is pursued through yajna or self-submitting sacrifice and spiritual tapas but it dwells within the Rishis as the permanent fixed word. The seven bards are interpreted by commentators as the seven meters of Vedic chhanda or the seven vital life-energies or seven notes that underlie, articulate and place in musical concert the eternal Naad or the sacred voice. The foundational sounds of the Vedas that are were discovered or heard “harboured within” by the Rishis during deep meditation suggesting that the revelatory Shruti is such and thuseternal immutable.
